Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Talia when you use usetalia.com. They are written to be read. If anything is unclear, ask us before you rely on it.

In effect from 31 October 2026.

1. Who we are and who these terms cover

Talia (usetalia.com) is operated from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“Talia”, “we”). These terms apply to anyone who creates an account or uses the service (“you”). If you use Talia for an organisation, you accept these terms for it and confirm you may do so. You must be at least 18 and use Talia for business purposes.

2. The service

Talia researches an organisation you name from public sources and returns a report: an org chart, a buying group for what you sell, current and former people, advisors, warm paths and a chat that answers from the report's stored claims. Every claim carries a grade (HIGH, MED or LOW), its source and its date. We improve the service over time and may change features; we will not remove a core part of a plan you have paid for during the period you paid for.

3. Your account

Keep your sign in details safe and tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Give us accurate details, including a working email address.

Users: Starter, one user; Professional, one user; Team, up to 5 users. Today an account is one sign in; on a plan with more than one user, we invite the other users on request, and they share the account's credits.

4. The free trial

A new customer can start one free trial of 14 days. A card is required. The trial carries 25 credits, enough for two organisations of up to 250 people each. For a larger organisation, buy a credit pack during the trial; the trial carries on. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription starts at the end of the trial and the first monthly payment is taken. Trial credits are for the trial only and do not carry into a paid period.

5. Subscriptions

Plans are monthly and renew automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. If we change a plan's price, we tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

6. Credits

  • Reports, refreshes and research jobs from the chat are paid in credits. The price of each is shown before you confirm it; a report is priced by the size of the organisation.
  • Credits come with your plan each month or are bought as packs or top ups. One credit is USD 0.99 in a pack or on the Starter plan; the Professional and Team plans include their monthly credits at a lower rate and top up at a discount.
  • If a run fails, its credits are returned to your balance automatically.
  • Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred and are not refundable, except as our refund policy says.
  • Monthly plan credits roll over while you stay subscribed. Credits you buy in packs do not expire while your account is open. After you cancel, every remaining credit stays usable for 12 months.

7. Payment

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, which collects payment and handles sales tax and VAT. Your payment is also subject to Dodo Payments' own terms. Prices are in US dollars, and tax is added where it applies. If a payment fails, we may pause paid features until it succeeds.

8. Acceptable use

Use Talia only for lawful business purposes, such as business to business sales, partnerships, consulting and recruitment. You must not:

  • use it to harass, stalk, intimidate or discriminate against anyone, or to research a private individual in a personal capacity;
  • use a report to decide a person's eligibility for employment, credit, insurance, housing or similar, where the law regulates such decisions or the reports that inform them;
  • send outreach that breaks data protection, privacy or anti spam law, or ignore a person's request to stop;
  • resell reports or their data in bulk, or build a competing database from them;
  • scrape the service, get around its limits or security, or interfere with its operation;
  • use it in breach of sanctions or export laws.

When you export or use personal data from a report, you decide how you use it, and you are responsible for doing so lawfully. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules.

9. Accuracy: graded evidence, not guarantees

Reports are built from public sources, which can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. A grade says how strong the evidence is: where it comes from, how recent it is and which checks it passed. It is not a guarantee that a claim is true. An inferred reporting line is an inference and is marked as one. “Not publicly stated” means we did not find it in a public source. Check anything important before you rely on it.

10. Intellectual property

We own the service, its software, its method and its design. While your account is in good standing you may use the reports you receive for your own organisation's internal business purposes, including sharing them with colleagues. The sources quoted belong to their owners. What you give us (your requests, questions and corrections) remains yours; you let us use it to provide and improve the service.

11. Suspension and ending

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, fails to pay, or puts the service or other people at risk; where we reasonably can, we tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.

12. Liability

The service is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill; and our total liability to you for all claims in any 12 months is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud.

13. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of how you used the service in breach of these terms or the law, you will cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For a material change we tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies; if you do not agree, you can cancel before then.

15. Governing law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. The courts of Dubai have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of Talia.
